I’ve made some websites using html but now I want to make an e-commerce site and I want to learn PHP form making and shopping carts and stuff like that. What is the best way to learn it from home.

I suggest you to use http://www.php.net for reference, and to study the examples they offer, and test what you find there, etc.

lynda.com has a great video tutorial on PHP and mySQL. You have to pay to access it though. Also http://php.opensourcecms.com/ has a list of some free ecommerce suits to get you started.
